Carlos is a young technical builder focused on solving industrial waste challenges by transforming acid mine drainage—loaded with metals like iron, aluminum, and magnesium—into valuable raw materials for cement production. He is currently based in , where he operates at the intersection of materials science and clean technology, and was recently backed by the 1517 Fund for his work on this approach. Carlos previously wrote about environmental remediation in mining and public science communication, sharing processes and progress with a wider audience.
