Rashi Bhavsar is a young technical builder from Mumbai, India, recognized for her hands-on contributions to open-source bioengineering projects even before receiving the iGEM Biohackathon Grand Prize and Merge Grants funding. She led the creation of BugBeGone, a sustainable, electricity-free, and highly effective mosquito-killing bio-device that tackles real-world vector control challenges. Previously, she contributed to grassroots initiatives focused on accessible, low-cost tools for community health, where her prototypes gained traction among local NGOs.
